Ray B's Commodore 64 art!

 

Once upon a time...

Ever wonder what paths took a person to where and how you see them today? How did they get there? What did they do? What motivated them? Well, this is the newest addition to my portfolio, but ironically, my oldest digital works. These are all 160x200 Commodore 64 bitmap graphics that I created between 1985 and 1989. Back then, I was motivated to create the best looking C64 graphics possible, using the limited 16 color palette the machine was capable of. (Note, on a PC, the horizontal pixels are doubled, to match a PC's pixel aspect ratio). How does this relate to today's technology? Well, look around at the plethora of portable devices around. Palm Pilots, Gameboys, PocketPCs etc... They don't exactly use cutting edge graphics technology. (To the right is the Commodore 64's color palette. That's all I had to work with. 16 ugly colors which didn't even look the same on all systems!) --> Enjoy this little trip back to the future... (Page is still being worked on) ~ June 2002
